Tim Tadder for Purina

Tim Tadder might be best known for his arresting sports imagery, but with his recent work for Colle McVoy and Purina, you can see that he’s not just all about the hero shot.  Or at least, not just all about the sports hero.  We’ve got some behind the scenes shots of the Purina project which aimed to show that kittens and puppies can be heroes too.  We can’t wait to see the final ads!

It’s all fun & games in Italy…

If you’re a cycling fan and you love great photography, you’ve probably noticed that Emiliano Granado has been a bit busy lately. With Manual for Speed, he and fellow photographer Daniel Wakefield Pasley have been following the Giro d’Italia race as it winds itself through Italy. We think it’s a pretty stellar project and so does PDN – check out their post about it on their blog. For near daily updates, follow the Manual for Speed Facebook page right here. Ride on, friends!

All in for a road trip with JanSport & A. Reilly

1,758 miles, 15 crew and talent, 10 days, 4 states, and 3 RVs equals 1 amazing production for JanSport by Andrew Reilly.

With some of the “talent” none other than The Stone Foxes, Andrew, the agency, client and crew hit the road in San Francisco and made their way down the Pacific Coast Highway for an epic road trip – stopping for shows, impromptu antiquing, exploring the White Sands of New Mexico and general tomfoolery.  They wrapped things up at SXSW after stops in Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, San Diego, Phoenix and Marfa.

With a group that’s known for rocking out, it’s no wonder that these images and ads capture the fun of the brand AND the band so effortlessly.

Manual for Speed

We are so stoked for Emiliano Granado – his project Manual for Speed was a feature on CNN photos this week!

The project began when he and another photographer, Daniel Wakefield Pasley, began documenting the lives of Team Exergy, formed in 2011 and sponsored by Castelli, an Italian maker of cycling clothing and accessories. Granado & Pasley accompanied the team on the road, capturing moments of training, racing and recovery. You can see the full CNN story right here and be sure to check out the rest of Emiliano’s work, including Time for Print & Thank God That’s Over, right here.

Congrats Emiliano!

Andrew Reilly for ABC Youth Foundation

In a previous life, our own Emissary Artist Andrew Reilly was a teacher so when he discovered the Anybody Can (ABC) Foundation in San Diego, he jumped on the chance to work with children & teens in this great after school program, dedicated to exposing underprivileged kids to the sport of boxing within the confines of a learning center.

Andrew shot the images below as a gift to the Foundation for promotional use and they also plan to frame and hang several of the images in their learning center. As Andrew told us, he’s hoping this becomes an ongoing collaboration where he might be able to offer his expertise to teach a basic course on photography to a few of the kids. We’re incredibly proud that our Emissary Artists are working on such rewarding personal projects – beautiful images for a worthy cause. Great work, Andrew!

Motion in Air 2

That Tim Tadder, he can’t stay idle for long – it’s not even the end of January and he’s already collaborated with the talented digital artist Mike Campau on the beautiful new project, Motion in Air 2. As described in the writeup on Behance, “Keeping the same premise as the original concept, Mike made each shape unique based on the dancer’s personality, style, and movements in the air. This time more dramatic lighting and darker tones were used to better match with Tim’s patented look.”

If only we could all be captured so gracefully. See all of Tim & Mike’s beautiful images right here.
